Its thick walls, minimal taper and exceptional load bearing capacity (MOE 17,859 N/mm2) make this bamboo ideal for sustainable construction projects.

  • Bamboo is naturally tapered. The dimensions specified are always taken from the widest part of the bamboos
  • Every pole is unique, so please expect some differences in pattern and colour
  • Similar to wood, bamboo expands and contracts, especially when used outdoors. This does mean that some vertical cracking is inevitable, but it does not affect the strength of the bamboo in any way. If using outdoors, we strongly recommend you use a bamboo treatment.

Excellent, strong poles

I previously ordered another species of bamboo pole for a project in the allotment, supporting hardy kiwi vines between trees. Both broke with the wind. I then ordered these extra strong Guadua poles (originally from Colombia) and they are super strong, while also being lightweight. I ordered a 5m and a 4m length. Both arrived safely and well packaged. Job done. I have every faith in them: I can feel the quality and strength in them.
